Rangers inflicted their first defeat of the season on Celtic with a 3-0 win as Philippe Clement’s Voodoo Outdated Agency finished to relieve some pressure on the struggling Rangers manager.

After suffering dropped points at St Mirren and Motherwell, Clement’s side were fired up to beat their rivals for the first time since May 2023, when Brendan Rodgers suffered his first defeat at Ibrox.

They were the better team from the start and Ianis Hagi cheered the fans on when he scored the first goal with just seven minutes on the clock.

Vaclav Cerny hit the post on either side of the Kyogo goal offside as the Rangers continued to dominate. Robin Propper scored the second and Danilo came off the bench to claim a comprehensive victory with his first touch.

Celtic were far from their best but remain 11 points clear in the Scottish Premiership title race, while Clement appears to have won over fans again – for now.

Rangers were without goalkeeper Jack Butland and captain James Tavernier but started with real intent and Nedim Bajrami blocked three shots in quick succession as they looked for an early lead.

It took just seven minutes for Ibrox to come to life when Hagi recovered from stand-in captain Raskin and sent a brilliant shot into the corner of the net.

Rangers took the lead in the Outdated Agency match at Ibrox when Ianis Hagi fired home from 25 yards.

The hosts were enthusiastic.

Vaclav Cerny almost doubled their lead soon after, his shot deflecting off Liam Scales and hitting the top of the crossbar, Ridvan Yilmaz forcing a save from Kasper Schmeichel minutes later.

Celtic struggled to string together a pass and Daizen Maeda’s deflected shot was the best they could offer in the first half hour.

Hagi had the chance to make it 2-0 when Reo Hatate gave the ball away, but this time his shot went wide.

Then it was Cameron Carter-Vickers who came to the rescue with a brilliantly timed sliding tackle to prevent Mohamed Diomande from putting Rangers further ahead.

Jefte left Nicolas Kuhn with a cut nose as half-time approached after receiving a booking. After the resulting free kick was cleared, Liam Kelly made a brilliant save on his Outdated Agency debut to prevent Maeda from scoring from a Paulo Bernardo corner.

The captains clashed at the whistle and Raskin was shown a yellow card, while Callum McGregor, already booked, escaped further punishment.

Celtic looked to get back into the game and Kyogo sent a brilliant volley over Kelly and into the net, but VAR confirmed he was offside.

Cerny then hit the woodwork again as his shot hit the post before Rodgers made the changes with Adam Idah, Alex Valle and Luke McCowan replacing Kyogo, Greg Taylor and Bernardo.

The rangers threatened again.

Schmeichel ducked to push away Cerny’s shot, but seconds later they doubled their lead when Propper headed the ball in on the rebound after Raskin’s header was blocked.

The hosts wanted more and Schmeichel saved Yilmaz’s long-range shot as the Hoops looked shocked.

And they weren’t done yet when Danilo came off the bench to score the third with his first touch of the game.

The fans were in dreamland, but still, objects were later thrown from the stands onto the field and the police intervened to remove them.

Clement led his players to celebrate with the fans while the Celtic players trudged through the Ibrox tunnel in disbelief at their poor performance.

What’s coming up in the Scottish Premiership?
