Every time the left says that you can’t cut anything from the budget without draconian changes to Medicare and Social Security, a story emerges that shows there is a lot of excess spending that could be cut.
But this writer thinks that someone, somewhere, is profiting from this insane spending, which is why the government has no interest in stopping it.
That needs to change.
Everything pointed out by Twitchy favorite Oilfield Rando and his Randoland account is a good starting point.
Like this:
$62.5 million for solar panels in poor communities in Alaska, where
THE F**KING SUN DOESN’T SHINE FOR HALF THE F**KING YEAR https://t.co/azjmD3KY33
— Rando Oilfield (@Oilfield_Rando) January 1, 2025
Alaska receives almost no solar light for half the year. This is crazy.
Anyone who lives in or visits Alaska can tell you that their trees are stunted for this very reason. The EPA is full of fools.

We are ruled by clowns.
With exceptions due to terrain, everywhere on Earth there are approximately the same hours of daylight per year, right? (At the equator it’s about 12 hours every day, and at the poles, simplifying, it’s closer to 6 months of light than dark). Your point is more about the angle/insolation of the sun, right?

It’s not good.
Compare sunny days in Alaska and Arizona. Photo voltaic energy is absolutely overdue in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest in general. pic.twitter.com/FnGQ932iUw

You cannot get energy from the sun when there is no sun.
I moved from Alaska 6 months ago. He lived in Eagle River, which is a small enclave outside of Anchorage. In the middle of winter, we only had about 6 hours of solar light a day. Going north is worse. Of course, summer is the other way around. But still. The winters are very harsh.

Winter is when people need reliable power to keep their homes warm.
How unrealistic of you. It’s not about whether it works. It’s about whether they can spend the money to justify their tax bill.

He got over it.

No lies were detected.
It seems like the goal is to spend the money. That’s what matters. The purpose of a system is what it does. https://t.co/kqMoKp1kn5

And our government spends money easily.

If we pay more taxes we can save the environment. https://t.co/Up36tffZlT— Jim Eatock, cleverly posing as an adult (@JimEatock) January 1, 2025
It will work that time!
This shit is infuriating. https://t.co/PtnYdXKtV2

So infuriating.
I understand your frustration, but perhaps this Alaska project will spark innovation in energy storage, making solar energy viable even when solar light is scarce. https://t.co/QJYzaPT4DU

Nothing government sponsored has ever sparked innovation.
Shit!

It’s maddening, but fun.
