Quebec immigration minister, the bill that requires newcomers ‘to participate fully, in French’

The Quebec government has presented legislation that would modify the Provincial Charter of Rights to affirm that the exercise of individual rights must comply with the province’s model to integrate immigrants.

The bill presented in the provincial legislature on Thursday morning by immigration minister Jean-François Roberge requires that newcomers adopt the common culture of Quebec.
