Melania Trumplooking for husband donald trumpThe second inauguration was surprising and almost the victim of a devastating wardrobe malfunction.
The incoming First Lady chose a navy and ivory ensemble designed by Adam Lippes For her husband’s swearing-in ceremony, she opted for classic tailoring details instead of flashy designs or bright colors. The look was completed with a boater created by Eric JavitsMade with the same double-faced navy blue wool and adorned with an ivory ribbon.
In an email to vanity fairJavits revealed that although he doesn’t normally create custom orders, when contacted by Melania’s stylist Hervé Pierre asking for a spin on one of their summer boater hats—Trump already owned a loved one—the Florida-based designer took on what he called “one of the greatest honors of my career.” Trump and Javits never had direct contact, he explains; rather, Pierre guided him through his desires.
Javits hand-stitched about 92 percent of the hat’s seams using couture techniques, he said, and “no other hand touched (nor eyed) the hat before Hervé Pierre and the First Lady received it.”
But when it was delivered for Melania’s final fitting in New York, “the box arrived wet and crushed; the hat inside, irreparably damaged.”
In what he called “a bit of a cliffhanger,” Javits created a second hat in less than four days. “Lady. “Trump’s stylist, Hervé Pierre, picked it up for me in Miami and personally transported it back to the First Lady,” Javits told Vainness Truthful, who was “at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Seaside in the days leading up to the inauguration.” ”.
Javits said her goal is to “flatter and enhance all face types” with her designs and that “it was not difficult to achieve, as Mrs. Trump is blessed with great bone structure, beauty and a wonderful sense of style. “
President Trump praised his wife’s style in remarks to supporters shortly after his inauguration, but couldn’t resist poking fun at her outfit. “I have a first lady who has been incredible,” he said. “I shouldn’t say this. “I’m going to be angry when I say this, but his feet hurt so much.”
