Man and woman in their 70s found dead on Dorset property

A man and a woman in their 70s were found dead at an address in a coastal town, police said.

Detectives launched an investigation into the incident, which occurred at a property in Anthony’s Avenue, Poole, Dorset, and was reported at 11.35am on Tuesday.

Police and the ambulance service attended the scene and the couple’s bodies were found inside the property, Dorset Police said.

The man and woman knew each other, their next of kin were informed and the coroner was notified, the force said.

DI Ian Allen said: “This is a very sad incident and we are doing everything we can to support the relatives.

“Officers are carrying out investigations to establish exactly what happened and a cordon is in place to allow a thorough investigation of the scene to take place.

“At this time, no one else is believed to have been involved in the incident and inquiries will continue to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the deaths.

“I am appealing to anyone who may have any information to assist our investigation to contact Dorset Police.

“We are trying to establish a timeline of what happened, but we are currently looking at the period from the Christmas holidays to today.

“There will be an increased police presence in the area and we encourage anyone to contact officers from the local neighborhood policing team if they have any concerns or information.”
