They have been there every night for almost four years.

Supporters of the January 6 prisoners inside the Washington DC Correctional Facility organize a vigil around 9 o’clock, at which time rioters imprisoned inside join them on a phone call to listen to the national anthem.

Last night could have been, well, the last night. To the crowd outside, a prisoner declared: “Thank you Mr. Trump!”

It felt like a party gathered in the bitter cold of a Washington night, with the crowd shuffling to the music and warming with anticipation.

They had gathered to witness the first “Jan6ers“going out.

At one point there was a surge toward the front door as supporters and media rushed toward a fake “freedom” sighting.

The police sent reinforcements and formed a double line on the other side of the street.

Among the crowd was Ben Pollock of Florida. His son and daughter, Jonathan and Olivia, were jailed for crimes on January 6.

Ben had traveled hoping to see them released.

His son Jonathan spoke to him from inside the jail and said: “Oh, man, I know we’re going home… we have our stuff, bags… and we can’t wait to get out and see everyone in person.” “.

Ben told me, “I’m so proud of these kids and today is victory day. It will be a rebirth for the country and a just freedom.”

It is an unwavering belief in what is right and a grievance at the perceived injustice surrounding the events of January 6.

Of course, it is countered by the condemnation of the rioters who rampaged through the Capitol building.

Speaker Emeritus Nancy Pelosi, who had to flee and hide from the rioters, said in a statement: “The president’s actions are an outrageous insult to our justice system and to the heroes who suffered physical scars and emotional trauma while protecting the Capitol, Congress and the Constitution.

“It is shameful that the president has decided to make among his top priorities the abandonment and betrayal of police officers who risk their lives to stop an attempt to subvert the peaceful transfer of power.”

It was a confrontation on the first day of the trump presidency who saw how a to-do list was made.

I had it in a black book: Donald Trump’s model for change in the United States.

The executive order book couldn’t wait for Resolute’s desk inside the White House; Within the Washington Capital Area, this was politics as performance art from a man who knows the theater of the presidency.

He also knows his value.

The instructions, signed by Donald Trump, are equivalent to promises kept and he does not want to minimize the audience because of it. There is momentum in the moment: why minimize it?

The series of executive orders signals an abrupt, large-scale change: it will change the way America does politics and the way America does America.
