Marina Squerciati makes headlines during a TV season due to the ups and downs of playing Kim Burgess on NBC Chicago Policebut the actress had a big announcement in her personal life while celebrating the end of 2024. She took to social media to reveal a pregnancy that she had managed to hide all year, with a photo celebrating “life in a bikini” with her baby. Bump and another showing a rather fun look at his eldest daughter’s artistic take. Furthermore, its title answers a question from the current twelfth season of its program.
The actress certainly had more to celebrate than her One Chicago character as she prepares for 2025! Check out their announcement on Instagram below and be sure to click through to see both photos:
Congratulations to Marina Squerciati and those around her for successfully hiding her pregnancy, because at the end of the pregnancy there were absolutely no signs. Chicago Police Season 11 or beginning of season 12, other than that, as stated in its title, he missed the first two episodes of the fall season. The hit NBC show had found a great way to explain the character’s absence, and Squerciati, who missed a couple of installments, led me to assume it was due to One Chicago’s budget cuts. Who knew?
The pregnancy announcement not only showed off Squerciati’s baby bump, complete with #BikiniLife, #MiamiVibes, and #motherofdragons, but also her daughter’s opinion. Perhaps that last dragon-related hashtag is a sign of what her daughter represented in her artwork: the challenges Squerciati faced as a working mother in keeping some very important news a secret from the public!
This was the second time during the course of Chicago Police that Squerciati kept her baby bump off camera, as she was pregnant during the seventh season in 2017. She stepped away from the show due to maternity leave, which P.S. explains that Burgess needed leave to care for his sister. Due to the 2024 schedule, the actress evidently didn’t need to take a break from filming part of the way toward a season. We can all be glad that he was able to spend time with his family instead of rushing back to work for the first two episodes of season 12.
And her One Chicago friends wasted no time celebrating the news after she made the announcement on Instagram. In one hour, the former P.S. Star Tracy Spiridakos had posted three hearts in Squerciati’s comments section, and executive producer Brian Luce commented “Priceless!” LaRoyce Hawkins, who has worked alongside Squerciati since the beginning of P.S. As Kevin Atwater wrote:
Congratulatory messages from followers are also arriving, along with wishes for a Happy New Year. All in all, it was really sweet to see Squerciati’s post during the winter break of his longtime show, and not just because Burgess could be in trouble again in the upcoming One Chicago crossover at the end of January.
I have to echo all the other One Chicago fans (as well as her). P.S. friends) to congratulate Marina Squerciati on her arrival and let’s hope that the new year only brings good things for her and her family.
