Power banks have become much smarter over the years. While you can still get a plastic case with a few batteries inside and a USB port or two on the outside, most are more advanced now. This is quite a beast
Taking center stage on the Omni 30C+ is an OLED display that displays battery status, power input and output, and battery temperature. The menu is configurable, so you can change temperature units, display wait time, and more. It is small, clear and bright.

There are also several buttons: an on/off button and up/down buttons used to navigate the menu.
On the back are the ports. You get two USB-C ports (one is used to charge the batteries), two USB-A ports, and a barrel DC plug that can act as both input and output.
The upper part consists of three wireless charging pads. There’s a 10W pad for smartphones, a 5W pad for headphones, and a small 3W pad specifically for the Apple Watch.
Inside the pack are eight rechargeable lithium-ion batteries with a combined capacity of 25,600 mAh, enough to recharge a 13-inch laptop a couple of times, a smartphone about four times, or your Apple Watch 45 times.

One cool feature I like about the power banks I use is pass-through charging, which means you can charge the power bank and use it simultaneously to charge other devices, because this allows me to travel with an AC wall charger and use my power bank. to divide that power between other devices that need to be charged. It’s a great way to save space.

The drive is packaged in a rubber casing designed to protect it from scratches and impacts, and from my testing so far, it does a good job of protecting the drive. While the unit is not rated as waterproof, I’m happy to take mine outside in light rain because it doesn’t seem to cause any problems.
The Omnicharge Omni 30C+ is not affected by a few drops of rain!

Omnicharge is a premium manufacturer and these products are priced at a premium. At $299, this is definitely a premium priced product. But do the build quality and performance justify the high price?

As much as I tried, it’s hard to criticize the Omni30C+. Yes, I can criticize it for being bulky and heavy, but considering it includes three wireless charging pads along with eight large batteries in the unit, I’m surprised it’s not bigger and heavier. I have some trips planned for the next few months and I can see the Omni 30C+ joining me on the journey.
