The unfortunate incident of petty theft at a Texas pizzeria inadvertently uncovered another victim with his good-humored viral social media post.
Stone Oven Pizza in Wichita Falls turned to Facebook when money was stolen from its tip jar and offered an auction to replace the employees’ missing dollars.
The teenagers accused in the incident left a cowboy hat, so the restaurant owners decided that the most appropriate thing would be to use the lost hat and recover the profits.

“Last night, our team had an incident where some teenagers stole tips from the tip jar… However, luckily, they left this hat behind… We’re not big fans of hats around here, however, we know the beautiful community of Wichita Falls “It is, and we would like to open an auction… The highest bidder before Tuesday afternoon will win the prize of this authentic cowboy jicama-giga!” the publication said.
The company said all proceeds from the auction would be divided equally among the three employees who lost their tips.
What the pizzeria did not expect was that the kind attempt would lead to the discovery of the hat’s true owner, who was not one of the teenagers.
An update to the original publication showed that the same teenagers had broken into a man’s truck and stolen his hat.

The teens responsible left behind a cowboy hat, and the restaurant owners decided it would be appropriate to use the lost hat and recoup the profits.

“While the owners of Stone Oven were prepared to take on this man in mutual combat to defend our team’s salaries… It was the team members themselves who decided that this man’s head really seemed cold… we will return ownership to its legitimate place.” owner…don’t worry, employees have received $50 bonuses for altruism and compassion,” the update read, in part.
The restaurant then boasted about being proud of its city and the support it received after the robbery.
