Late last month we told you about New York Governor Kathy Hochul’s plan to make her state’s residents rediscover the joy of walking by making fuel unaffordable. Hochul’s new plan would basically make fossil fuel companies pay for any kind of damage that New York Democrats want to blame on climate change, because they sell the fuel that vehicles burn, thus making the climate worse, or something like that.
Energy companies won’t want to be based in New York after is:
New York state will fine fossil fuel companies a total of $75 billion over the next 25 years to pay for climate damage under a bill Gov. Kathy Hochul signed into law Thursday. .
The law aims to shift some of the costs of climate change recovery and adaptation from individual taxpayers to the oil, fuel and coal companies that the law says are responsible. The money raised will be spent on mitigating the impacts of climate change, including adapting roads, transportation, water and sewage systems, buildings and other infrastructure.
Hochul will make fossil fuel companies pay for their contributions to the “climate disaster,” but guess who won’t have to pay for their contributions? This won’t surprise you:
Rules for you but not for me:
“She is taking a hard line on fossil fuels, except the ones she herself is saying.

From New York Post:
Governor Hochul, who recently approved a controversial law that will force oil, fuel and coal companies to shell out $75 billion for carbon emissions that supposedly contribute to global warming. He has made at least 30 flights aboard private jets since 2021, state Board of Elections records show.
The $415,000 bill was paid by his campaign committee, records show.
“It’s a huge waste, especially for an elected official. There is no reason why an elected official in New York should take a private jet. Almost everywhere in New York or upstate there is a (commercial) airport that will take you anywhere in the country. “New York is one of the best connected places on the planet,” said a local pilot with experience in private aviation.
Hochul flew with two private airlines, Zephyr Jets and Apollo Jets, in the past four years. It’s unclear what the destinations were, but no flight cost less than $5,000, while his most expensive trip was billed on Jan. 17 for $38,594.00, records show.
“Fossil fuels for me, but not for you” is a common mantra of these hypocrites.
Always the same.
“The planet is on fire! Now do as I say, not as I do!

If these people want the rest of us to believe there is a “climate disaster,” they should first act like they believe it.
Isn’t that number close to a retirement fund shortfall in that state? It has nothing to do with climate change.

The “climate disaster” nonsense is all about trying to force the private sector to pay for its own refusal to balance a budget.
