The judge of the United States Supreme Court, John Roberts, arrested on Wednesday a federal judge order that required the Trump administration to pay around $ 2 billion in foreign aid funds to the contractors at midnight.
The ruling occurs after the Trump administration requested the Supreme Court an emergency order to block the release of funds from the International Development Agency (USAID), which the federal judge had required at midnight. The authorities had said they could not comply with the judge’s order.
The Trump administration said that the order of the American district judge Amir H. Ali had created “an unsustainable payment plan in disagreement with the president’s obligations under article II to protect the integrity of the federal inspection and make appropriate judgments (sic) on foreign aid, clear forms of irreparable damage”.
Any response from the groups that are fighting against the Trump administration is due before Friday at 12 pm, which means that the pause could be relatively short duration.

The Trump administration said it was eliminating more than 90% of USAID foreign aid contracts and $ 60 billion in normal United States assistance worldwide, putting numbers in their plans to eliminate most of the United States and humanitarian aid abroad.
The cuts detailed by the Administration would leave few survivors USAID projects for defenders to try to save on what are ongoing judicial battles with the administration.

The Administration has presented an emergency appeal before the Supreme Court in another case so far, arguing that a lower court was wrong to restore the head of a federal surveillance agency after Trump dismissed him.
