Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, agreed to draft a mineral agreement with the White House, President Donald Trump said Tuesday.
Trump told journalists that the Ukrainian leader plans to travel to DC on Friday to meet with him after officials agreed the terms of the agreement, which was first informed by Reuters. The president of the United States added that the two leaders are “right in the negotiation process.”

The pact, which would imply giving the United States access to natural resources in exchange for the support from the United States to Ukraine in the midst of its war with Russia, was days in process. Trump said Friday that his administration was “quite close” to reach an agreement, and on Monday he hinted that a meeting between him and Zelenskyy imminent period.

That commitment has led to the tension between him and Zelenskyy, and Trump ridiculed the politician as a “modestly successful comedian” in a social publication of truth last week.

United States Treasury Secretary Scott Besent He previously praised the potential pact in a Sunday interview in “Sunday Morning Futures.”
