A man whose credit card was stolen and used to buy a winning lottery ticket is attracting so that the thieves are presented, so that they can divide the cash.
The thieves bought a € 500,000 winning area (£ 414,000) with the stolen card in the French city of Toulouse.
But the ticket has not been sent to claim the prize.
The victim of theft, identified in police documents such as Jean-David E, made his backpack containing his stolen bank card from his car earlier this month.
He asked his bank to block it, but he learned that his card had already been used in a Native store, where two homeless men had apparently used to buy a winning scratch card.
“They were so happy that they forgot their cigarettes and their belongings and left crazy,” said Jean-David’s lawyer Pierre Debuisson.
He said that Jean-David has filed a police complaint about theft, but is ready to withdraw it if the thieves appear so they can share the money.
“It’s an incredible story, but everything is true,” he added.
The lawyer launched a national appeal on Thursday, asking thieves to communicate with his office to reach an agreement.
“Without them, no one would have won,” France-2 told the public broadcaster.

The Francaise des Jeux (FDJ), the state lottery operator, said no one had presented the ticket to claim the prize.
Debuisson said prosecutors can try to take advantage of the profits, considering the profits obtained illegally, and warned that the ticket will eventually expire.
“Time is working against us,” he said.
“Don’t risk anything … we will share with you,” he said. “And you could change your lives.”
