nelly is scheduled to perform in one of donald trump‘s Liberty Inaugural Ball on Monday (January 20).
The 50-year-old rapper is one of many artists performing at events over the holiday weekend to celebrate the arrival of the president-elect. Opening 2025which will also take place on Monday.
Following the news that she would be performing for the controversial elected official, Nelly responded to the backlash and shared why she was doing it.

“I thought you would travel with me because I prepare for my city and try to make my city better every step of the way. I didn’t know you were traveling with me because you thought I would travel with who you voted for.
