Despite previous threats to quit, Invoice Maher plans to continue running his HBO talk show until the bitter end.
He Current time The host addressed speculation that he will step away from the show which launched in 2003 after previously jokingly stating that he “might resign” following the election of Donald Trump to a second presidential term.
“I don’t know where this thing that I’m getting rid of Current time. “They’re going to have to kick me out of that program,” Maher said in cnn.
“What I was saying is that I didn’t want to do another Trump term,” he added. “Not only because I don’t think it’s going to be a good time for the United States. Maybe again, I’m not going to hate anything beforehand, but because I already made all the jokes about Donald Trump.”
Maher continued: “I don’t know what else to say about this guy. But of course, it will give us a lot of new material. And I’ll get into that, but I was hoping that in the episodic TV show that is America, I was hoping for some new characters.”
Last month, Maher said in the Random membership He broadcast that he is “fucking his pants” after Trump won his re-election, adding: “It’s hard to believe. I mean, I can leave it because I don’t want to do another one. I did it with Trump. I did all the Trump stuff before anyone else. I called him a scammer before anyone else. I did. He is a mafia boss. I was the one who said that I was not going to concede the elections. I have done it.”
HBO executive Nina Rosenstein has since told Deadline about Maher’s potential resignation: “He recorded that podcast right after the election and, honestly, he was joking. He will always say that his first love is Current time.”
