Los Angeles police say they responded to the vice president’s Brentwood neighborhood around 4:30 a.m. Saturday. Two people were detained for being in the area after curfew in place due to the ongoing wildfires.
Police sources said NBC4 There is no evidence that the men ever entered the vice president’s property. The arrests come as heightened security measures have been implemented in the area due to the ongoing evacuation order for the Palisades Fire, which as of Saturday night has burned more than 23,000 acres and was only 11% contained.
It is not clear if the vice president or any of her family members were home at the time of the arrests. The vice president or her office have not yet commented on the incident.
