The body of a missing man was found in a landfill.
Essex Police said the body had been identified as Cumali Turhan, 46, who went missing from Chelmsford on November 19.
He said the search for the missing man had now concluded and his family had been informed.
The force continues to appeal for information about a suspect who has been identified as Ceyhan Dinler, 38, from Chelmsford, who is said to have left the country via Stansted Airport on the day Turhan was last in contact with anyone.
Ciprian Ilie, 44, of no fixed address, has been charged with assisting an offender and is in custody. He is due to stand trial at Chelmsford Crown Court on September 15.
Police said the landfill was in Essex, but did not reveal the location.
Inspector Louise Metcalfe said: “Specialist officers have been working diligently for 45 days at the landfill in conditions that have greatly taxed their resilience.”
The force said investigations were due to continue for several days at the landfill.
Mr. unnecessarily was last seen at The Globe pub on Rainsford Street in Chelmsford in the early hours of November 19.
Police said he may have later been at Barista, a bar and restaurant on Duke Avenue, however CCTV did not show him leaving the venue.
Later that night he was reported missing after he failed to arrive at work.
Det Ch Insp Metcalfe said: “Their (officers’) hard work has continued unabated even during the extreme weather to support detectives who have worked quickly to progress the extremely challenging investigation.
“During this difficult time, we have been in close contact with Cumali’s family. “They will continue to have the support of specialized agents, as it will take some time for them to accept this news.”
