Fallon Sherrock’s hopes of winning her PDC Tour Card have taken a hit after being defeated in her first Qualifying School Stage One match.

PDC Qualification Schools give any darts player aged 16 or over the opportunity to obtain a two-year PDC Tour Card, with the Qualification School taking place at venues in the UK and Germany simultaneously over a period of seven days.

The First Stage is held from Monday to Wednesday, with the eight quarterfinalists of each day automatically qualifying for the Closing Stage, while the remaining places in the Closing Stage – up to a total of 128 in each venue – are decided by Order of Merit.

Sherrock were playing in the UK Qualifying School, held at the Marshall Area in Milton Keynes, where they were beaten 5-4 in the last 16 stage on Monday by Shaun Carroll, although they will have opportunities over the next two days to achieve it. to the Closing Stage.

The ‘Queen of the Palace’ averaged 83.37 before being defeated in the decider of the final match, with Sherrock joined by Noa-Lynn van Leuven, the first trans player to complete the World Darts Championship by losing early in the opening day.

Van Leuven beat Jordy Jozee with straight legs in his first match, but lost 5-3 to Riccardo Rech in the round of 16 of the European Qualifying School, held at Wunderland in Kalkar.

Elsewhere, former world champion John Half was beaten 5-2 in his first match by Thomas Cromwell, while former world runners-up Mark Dudbridge and Andy Hamilton also lost their first matches against Frankie Ansell and Chris Hurds respectively.

Mason Whitlock, son of former world runner-up Simon Whitlock, was beaten 5-1 in his first match, and Devon Petersen was knocked out straight by Jarred Cole in the last 16.

What happens next at Q-Faculty?

There are 474 players in action in the First Stage of the European Qualifying School, with 354 players in the UK Qualifying School and players who lost their Tour Card at the end of 2024 are exempt until the Closing Stage in either countries.
