As you may recall, “journalists” have been helping their fellow Democrats by citing “anonymous sources” to derail Hegseth’s confirmation. Most of the accusations centered on alcohol consumption and drunkenness at work, but were unanimously refuted by numerous people who went on record.

The first obstacle to accelerating Trump’s agenda was overcome by Mike Johnson, who secured the votes necessary to remain speaker of the House. The next hurdle is getting all of Trump’s Cabinet nominees confirmed quickly. We’ll have to wait and see if Thune can overcome that hurdle for Trump.
