MANILA, Philippines—Troy Rosario had his best game in a Ginebra jersey on Sunday night as the Gin Kings topped the San Miguel Beermen in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

With Justin Brownlee “under the weather,” Rosario took over and finished with a game-high 22 points on 9-of-14 shooting from the field. He also grabbed 10 rebounds and scored a block in 33 minutes of action.

“It’s written on the board before the game that we have to be aggressive and be the aggressor,” Rosario said.

“Coming into this game, we knew San Miguel for how big he is and how powerful he is, so we needed to limit our mistakes and execute our system.”

Rosario, 32, signed with Ginebra last November as an unrestricted free agent and quickly adopted the Gin Kings’ basketball style.

“It was all over the floor. He’s always been all over the defensive court for us and on the boards. He’s been that X factor for us, but tonight he was also huge on the offensive end, making shots and getting offensive rebounds,” Cone said.

“Troy represented our performance tonight and I thought we really played hard and Troy represented that for us,” Cone added after leading the Gin Kings to a 5-2 record.

Ginebra will need another solid outing from Rosario when it takes on top team Northport on Wednesday at the Philsports Enviornment.
