With a new year here, the first quarter of 2025’s television schedule is packed with awards shows that will honor the past year’s achievements and conclude with the 97th Academy Award in March. As Hollywood celebrates the best of the best, the Wicked The cast of the film is already receiving a lot of love. On Friday, Ariana Grande won an award for playing Glinda, but was hilariously mocked for being named “Rising Star” after having a long career.

The Grammy winner was honored at the Palm Springs International Film Competition’s film awards alongside other hotshots this season, including Nicole Kidman, Angelina Jolie, Kieran Culkin, Timothée Chalamet, Colman Domingo and Mikey Madison. When accepting the “Rising Star Award,” he said the following:

I’ve been acting since I was a kid, so I never thought that at the age of 31 I’d hear the words “rising star” again. So, I want to start by thanking my good friends Botox and Juvederm. I thought I’d be hearing “slightly withered star” or “fallen star” by now, so thanks. (Laughs) I’m kidding.
