The images show a man named mike johns sitting in the back of his Waymo vehicle, which keeps spinning in a parking lot.
Mike calls Waymo customer service to report the problem and tells them he’s in danger of missing his flight… but the rep can’t stop the car in its tracks… and Mike continues to be driven in circles.
It’s funny… Mike wonders if he’s being pranked and says he feels like he’s in a sci-fi thriller.
In the end, Mike says his Waymo took him about 8 circles… and he ended up missing his flight.
Mike claims he still hasn’t been reimbursed for his missed flight, criticizing Waymo for lacking empathy and ignoring him with a customer service division that is fully automated and run by AI.
It seems like the experience is souring Waymo for Mike… next time he needs a ride, he says he’ll keep it the old-fashioned way with a Lyft or Uber.
Waymo, run by Google parent company Alphabet Inc., is still fairly new to the taxi business… and it’s clear there are still some hiccups to iron out.
