Seahawks defensive standout Byron Murphy II He almost had a panic attack after taking his teammates out to dinner this week… when his fellow Seattle players paid a whopping $155,000, all before discovering it was a scam.
The Seahawks had one last outing before their Week 18 matchup against the LA Rams… visiting Ascend Steak & Sushi for everything they could get their hands on, plus some expensive drinks.
When it came time to pay, the players presented Murphy with the damages…showing him a fake receipt for $155,000.
His teammates really sold it…reacting in absolute shock when his eyes doubled in size. Several let out an “Oh shit!!”
Ultimately, Murphy was allowed in on the prank… and was given the REAL bill: just over $38,000. It’s still not cheap, but it’s much better than I originally thought.
The first-round pick signed a four-year, $16 million deal with the ‘Hawks… so while he has some money, it’s nice to know he’s not $155k less rich now.
