president-elect donald trumpThe sentence in his New York hush money case will be reduced after all… just 10 days before he returns to the White House.
In a surprising twist on Friday, Choose Juan Merchan Trump’s sentencing was scheduled for January 10, but everything indicates that Trump will NOT be imprisoned.
Merchan’s written decision, obtained by TMZ, indicates that she will sentence Trump to what is known as probation… meaning Trump’s case would be dismissed if he is not arrested again.
Trump was trying to get his guilty verdict thrown out, and the entire case was thrown out by the courts… claiming he had presidential immunity after his re-election… but Merchan says there is “no legal impediment” to sentencing.
As you know, Trump was convicted of 34 serious crimes of falsifying business records to cover up money payments prosecutors say he made to a porn star Stormy Daniel.
Trump could face a possible prison sentence of up to 4 years, but again, it appears the judge won’t go that route… considering January 20, Inauguration Day, is looming.
It’s unclear whether Trump will appear in person next Friday in a New York City court… Merchan says Trump can appear in person or virtually, and Trump has until Sunday to inform the court of his plans.
The sentencing will be another crazy week for Trump: Monday is the fourth anniversary of the January 6 insurrection and is also the day Trump’s victory in the 2024 election will be certified.
Buckle up for a week of protests!!!
