Paul Mescal opens up about why he likes to watch The traitors of the United Kingdom and when he told a little lie to get his part regular people.
In a new interview, Mescal revealed that his favorite current reality show is the British version of The traitorsthe BBC One competition series presented by Claudia Winkleman, which has just premiered its third season with record audiences.
“The traitors—The one from the United Kingdom,” said Mescal. w magazinedistinguishing that he liked the British version over the other adaptations. “It’s very stressful and very entertaining. It’s cool to see the kind of psychological warfare that goes on. And the manipulation is insurmountable.”
The traitors The format is an adaptation of the Dutch series. The traitors and features a group of contestants working together as “Faithful” trying to discover the “Traitors” among them. Peacock adapted the format for American audiences with celebrity contestants.
During the same interview, Mescal was asked if he had ever lied to get a role and he confessed that he had said he could drive for regular peoplewhen he couldn’t.
“We signed the paperwork, I got the spare part and then I forgot to get my driver’s license,” he explained. “So I ended up doing regular people on a provisional license. I could only drive the car if there was a licensed driver next to me.”
Mescal starred in the limited series regular peoplewhich aired on BBC Three and Hulu in 2020. The series was based on the 2018 novel by Sally Rooney and starred Daisy Edgar-Jones and Mescal as a couple from high school to their college years at university.
