A driver deliberately crashed his truck into a crowd of New Year’s Day revelers in New Orleans and then opened fire. killing 10 people and injured more than 35, in an attack that the FBI said it was investigating as an act of terrorism.
“He was hell-bent on creating the carnage and damage that he caused,” city Police Commissioner Anne Kirkpatrick said in a televised news conference Wednesday morning.
CNN, ABC Information and Related Press said the gunman died at the scene, citing unnamed officials.
