Since its debut in 2018, Roku Metropolis, the purple-tinged animated cityscape, has been in standard 720p HD. Now, not only is it upgrading to 1080p HD, but it’s getting more lively and becoming massive.

In an email to users, Roku explained that in addition to the definition improvement to make it look sharper and more vibrant, the fictional city will be “bustling with even more activity, including new Easter eggs and the launch of the station. Roku City Train.” “
Roku also explained that billboards around the city will have a new star button that will let you learn more about the content, something called “Roku Zones,” and other features.
Roku offers several screensavers in its settings menu, including a clock, a 4K landscape gallery, a series of national parks, a “Backgrounds” theme that showcases iconic works of art, and a space theme. But the most popular by far is Roku Metropolis.
